Chinese New Year at Sovereign Hill. Sunday 10th and Sunday 18th February

Help us welcome the Year of the Pig. Special activities will be conducted on Sunday 10th and Sunday 17th February. Bring your family for the dragon parade, lion dances, traditional Chinese music and dance preformances and special art activities for kids. Normal entry prices apply.


Mass in St Alipius - Catholic Education Week. Monday 27th May, 11.00am.

Student leaders from local Catholic schools celebrate mass in Sovereign Hill’s St Alipius Church. For invited student representatives of local primary and secondary Catholic schools. Run in conjunction with the Ballarat Catholic Education Office.
Free by invitation.

 

 Gnarrwirring Ngitj Program. On selected dates throughout the year.

Gnarrwirring Ngitj” means “Learning Together” in Wadawurrung language. The Sovereign Hill Museums Association, in partnership with the Wathaurung Aboriginal Corporation, is presenting an exciting program of activities designed to deepen your understanding of our shared history.

Horses Birthday

Horses’ Birthday. Thursday 1 August

Primary students help celebrate the annual Horses’ Birthday. Come and muck out the stables, groom the horses and enjoy a coach ride. A fun day for all from 10.30am to 2.30pm. (Maximum 100) $5.00 per student.


Book Week. Reading is my secret power. Monday 19th to Friday 23th August

Primary schools will explore and celebrate some of the Children’s Book Council Book of the Year shortlisted books and participate in a selection of literacy and art activities using the short - listed books. Two 90 minute sessions will be conducted at 10.30am and 12.30pm daily. (Maximum 60 students per session) $5.00 per student

Eureka Day Commemorations

Christmas In The Colonies. Monday 2nd December to Friday 13th December

This ever popular activity involves students in a 90 minute experience exploring and enjoying Christmas in the 1850s. Sessions conducted at 10.30am and 12.30pm daily. (Max 80) $5.00 per student


Eureka Day. Tuesday 3rd December

Help us commemorate the Eureka uprising with a 1.5 hour program suitable for primary students. 10.30 am to 12.00 noon for a maximum of 150 students. Free after the cost of admission to Sovereign Hill.
